Bamum script is a script used to write the Bamum language, which is spoken in Cameroon. Bamum script was created in the 19th century by King Njoya, who commissioned a group of scholars to create a writing system for the Bamum language. The script consists of over 400 characters, and is written from left to right. Bamum script is used to write a variety of texts, including Bamum proverbs, songs, and historical records. In recent years, Bamum script has been used to create works of art, such as Bamum scrolls and Bamum calligraphy.
