Zimbabwean Dollar (1980–2008)

Zimbabwe's currency is the dollar (ZWL). It was introduced in 2009 after the country's hyperinflation crisis, during which the Zimbabwean dollar was virtually worthless. The new currency was pegged to the US dollar at a rate of 1:1. In 2016, the government introduced a new currency, the bond note, which is also pegged to the US dollar. However, the bond note is not legal tender and cannot be used outside of Zimbabwe.
