Cuban Convertible Peso

CUC is the currency of Cuba. It is pegged to the US dollar and is used by the Cuban government to purchase US dollars. CUC is also used by Cuban businesses to buy goods and services from US businesses. The Cuban government has been trying to reduce the use of CUC in the economy and has been encouraging the use of the Cuban peso. CUC is not traded on international currency markets.
