Nicaraguan Córdoba (1988–1991)

NIC is the currency of the Republic of Nicaragua. It is subdivided into 100 centavos. The word "cordoba" was originally used to refer to the old gold coins that were used in Nicaragua. NIC is the official currency of Nicaragua and is also legal tender in Costa Rica. The NIC has been in circulation since 1912.
