The Kuwaiti Dinar is the official currency of Kuwait. It is divided into 1000 fils. The Kuwaiti dinar is pegged to an undisclosed weighted basket of international currencies. The Kuwaiti dinar was introduced in 1960 to replace the Gulf rupee. Kuwait is a major oil exporting country and the Kuwaiti dinar is the highest valued currency in the world.
