Colombian Real Value Unit

COU is the currency of the Republic of the Congo. It is subdivided into 100 centimes. The COU was introduced in 1997, replacing the Central African CFA franc at a rate of 1 COU = 5 francs. Coins are issued in denominations of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50 centimes and 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 COU. Banknotes are issued in denominations of 500, 1000, 5000, 10,000, 20,000, 50,000 COU.
