BGO is a cryptocurrency that was created in 2014. It is based on the Bitcoin protocol but uses a different algorithm for mining, called Scrypt. BGO is also the first cryptocurrency to use the Proof-of-Stake-Time consensus algorithm. This means that instead of miners competing for blocks with their computing power, they are rewarded based on the amount of time they keep their BGO tokens staked in the network. BGO is designed to be a more sustainable and eco-friendly cryptocurrency than Bitcoin. It has a supply limit of 21 million coins and uses a Proof-of-Work/Proof-of-Stake hybrid consensus algorithm.
