Saurashtra

Saurashtra is a region of western India, located on the Kathiawar peninsula. It is home to the Saurashtra people, who speak the Saurashtra language. Saurashtra has a long and rich history of script writing. The earliest known examples of Saurashtra writing date back to the 3rd century CE. The script was used to write a variety of languages, including Sanskrit, Prakrit, and Apabhramsa. The Saurashtra script is a descendant of the Brahmi script, and is thought to be related to the Kadamba script of southern India. It is a cursive script, with many ligatures and abbreviations. The Saurashtra script was historically used to write a variety of languages, including Sanskrit, Prakrit, and Apabhramsa. However, it is now used primarily to write the Saurashtra language. The Saurashtra script is not currently used to write any other languages.
