Batak

Batak script is an old form of writing used by the Batak people of North Sumatra, Indonesia. The script is written on tree bark or palm leaves using a sharp knife, and is read from left to right. The letters are basic geometric shapes, and there are no upper or lower case letters. The Batak script was once used for all kinds of written communication, including letters, historical records, and even religious texts. Today, it is mostly used for decorative purposes, such as on traditional Batak houses and ceremonial clothing. Despite its declining use, the Batak script is still an important part of Batak culture and identity. For many Batak people, it is a link to their history and heritage.
