Zenaga

Zenaga is a language spoken in parts of Senegal and Mauritania. It is a Berber language, like Tamasheq and Tarifit. It is also closely related to the Soninke language, which is spoken in Mali. Zenaga is endangered, with only about 500 speakers remaining. Most of the speakers are older, and the language is not being passed down to younger generations. This is due to the fact that the language is not used in schools or in the media. There is very little written material in Zenaga. Most of what is known about the language comes from the work of linguists who have studied it. Zenaga is a fascinating language, and it is a shame that it is not more widely spoken. It is important to document and preserve the language before it is lost forever.
