Venetian

Venetian is a Romance language spoken as a native language by over two million people, mostly in the Veneto region of Italy, where it is co-official with Italian. It is sometimes spoken and often well understood outside the region, especially in the rest of Italy and in Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Egypt, Lebanon, and Tunisia. It is also spoken in the cities of Zadar, Rovinj, and Pula in Croatia, and in the Istrian region of Slovenia and in the city of Trieste. The Venetian language has a long and rich history dating back to the 12th century when it was first written down. It is believed to have originated from a mix of Latin, Italian, and other languages spoken in the Veneto region at that time. Over the centuries, it has undergone many changes, but has remained largely recognizable. Today, Venetian is considered to be an endangered language as the number of speakers is in decline, particularly among the younger generations. This is due to the increasing use of Italian in all aspects of life, including education, media, and business. However, there are efforts being made to revive the language and keep it alive. If you're interested in learning Venetian, there are a few resources available, including online courses, books, and apps. With a little effort, you can be on your way to speaking this fascinating language.
