Venezuelan Bolívar (1871–2008)
VEB is the currency of Venezuela. It was introduced in 2008, replacing the bolívar at a rate of 1 VEB to 1,000 bolívares. The VEB is subdivided into 100 céntimos.
Inflation has been a serious problem in Venezuela in recent years, and the value of the VEB has been declining. As of July 2017, the currency was worth about one-third of what it was worth at its introduction. The government has taken steps to try to stabilize the currency, but it remains volatile.
