Elymaic

Elymaic is a script used to write the Elamite language. It was used during the last two centuries BCE. The script is attested in a few hundred inscriptions found in Iran. It is thought to be derived from the older Akkadian cuneiform script. Elymaic is a syllabic script, with each character representing a syllable. The script is written from left to right. There are no capital letters, and there is no punctuation. The script is believed to be named after the ancient kingdom of Elymais, which was located in present-day southwestern Iran.
