ALGOL W is a programming language developed in the early 1970s. It is a member of the ALGOL family of programming languages. ALGOL W was designed as a successor to the ALGOL 68 programming language. ALGOL W was designed to be more readable and understandable than ALGOL 68. ALGOL W was never widely used, and it was eventually replaced by other programming languages such as Pascal and C.
