Alice is a 3D programming language that makes it easy to create an animation for telling a story, playing an interactive game, or a virtual world. Alice is designed to teach logical and computational thinking skills, as well as programming fundamentals. Alice is a free software application that allows users to create 3D computer animations. It uses a drag-and-drop interface to create characters, settings, and objects, and to animate them in a 3D environment. Alice is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Alice was developed at Carnegie Mellon University by a team of researchers led by Wanda Dann. The project was inspired by the work of Randy Pausch, who developed the Alice software to teach 3D programming to his students. Alice is used in middle school and high school classrooms around the world, as well as in after-school programs and coding clubs. It has also been used in college courses, and by professional animators and game developers.
