West Flemish

West Flemish is a dialect of the Dutch language spoken in the western part of Flanders, in the north of Belgium. It is also spoken in a small part of the French département of Nord. West Flemish is spoken by about 1.6 million people. West Flemish is very similar to Dutch, but there are some differences in pronunciation and vocabulary. For example, in West Flemish, the word for "water" is "water", while in Dutch it is "waterval". West Flemish is not a written language, but there are some books and websites that use it.
