Inari Sami

Inari Sami (also known as Inari Lappish or Inari Finnish) is a Sami language spoken in Inari, Finland. It is one of the five Sami languages and is closely related to Finnish. Inari Sami is spoken by about 1,000 people and is an official minority language in Finland. Inari Sami has two main dialects, North Inari Sami and South Inari Sami. North Inari Sami is spoken in Inari, Finland and is the more common of the two dialects. South Inari Sami is spoken in Enontekiö, Finland. Inari Sami is a agglutinative language, meaning that words are made up of many small parts that are added together. For example, the word for 'reindeer' is 'poron', which is made up of the small parts 'po' (reindeer), 'ro' (animal), and 'n' (plural). Inari Sami is written using the Latin alphabet. However, there is no standard way to write Inari Sami and different writers may use different conventions. Inari Sami has been influenced by Finnish, as the two languages are closely related. However, Inari Sami has also been influenced by other Sami languages and by the Finnish dialect spoken in Inari.
