Northwestern Ojibwa

The Northwestern Ojibwa language is a dialect of the Ojibwa language spoken by the Anishinaabe people in the northwestern United States and southwestern Canada. It is one of the largest Native American languages north of Mexico, with over 35,000 speakers. The Northwestern Ojibwa language is closely related to the other Ojibwa dialects, but has some unique features. For example, Northwestern Ojibwa has a larger number of consonants than other Ojibwa dialects, as well as a simpler grammatical structure. The Northwestern Ojibwa language is spoken in a number of communities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, and South Dakota, as well as in the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Manitoba. The language is also known as Anishinaabemowin, Ojibwemowin, or Chippewa.
