Kenyang

Kenyang is a Bantu language spoken in northeastern Angola and northwestern Democratic Republic of Congo. It is closely related to Mbundu and Kimbundu, and is sometimes considered a dialect of one or the other. There are two main dialects, Kenyang proper and Mbala. Kenyang has over two million speakers. It is used as a lingua franca in northeastern Angola. Kenyang is taught in schools in the Angolan provinces of Cabinda, Bengo, and Uíge. The Kenyang people are known for their traditional music and dance. The Kenyang language is used in traditional songs and dances. Kenyang music is popular in Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kenyang is written with the Latin alphabet. There is no standard orthography, but the Angolan government has proposed one.
