Zairean New Zaire (1993–1998)

The ZRN is the national currency of the Republic of Zaire. It was introduced in 1997, replacing the old Zaire at a rate of 1 ZRN = 100,000 old Zaire. The ZRN is subdivided into 100 makuta. There is no official ZRN exchange rate, but the currency trades at around 3,300 ZRN to 1 US dollar.
