The STN is the currency of the Republic of Serbia. It is subdivided into 100 para and is the official currency since 2003. The STN replaced the Yugoslav dinar following the dissolution of Yugoslavia. The name "dinar" is derived from the Roman denarius. The STN is issued by the National Bank of Serbia. The STN is pegged to the euro at a rate of 1 euro = 123.8 STN.
