South Sudan is a region located in the southern part of Sudan. It is bordered by the Central African Republic, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Sudan. The region has an area of about 619,745 square miles and a population of over 12 million people. The capital of South Sudan is Juba.
The region of South Sudan is home to many different ethnic groups, including the Dinka, Nuer, and Shilluk. The official languages of South Sudan are English and Arabic, although many other languages are spoken in the region.
