A-0 System

The A-0 System was a programming language developed in the early 1950s by Corrado Böhm and Giuseppe Jacopini. It was the first language to be based on the formal principles of algebraic logic, making it the first truly formal language. The A-0 System was also the first language to use the concept of subroutines, which would later become an important part of all programming languages.
