Belarusian

Belarusian is the official language of Belarus, a country in Eastern Europe. It is also spoken in parts of Russia, Ukraine and Poland. Belarusian is a Slavic language, closely related to Russian and Ukrainian. It is written in Cyrillic script. Belarusian is one of the oldest Slavic languages. It was first written in the 11th century. Belarusian has been influenced by many languages over the centuries, including Polish, Lithuanian, Latin and German. In the 20th century, Belarusian was the official language of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic. After the break-up of the Soviet Union, Belarusian was again made the official language of Belarus. Belarusian is spoken by about 9 million people. Most Belarusians also speak Russian, which is the country's second official language. Belarusian is taught in schools and used in the media. There has been a revival of interest in the Belarusian language in recent years. In 2018, a new Belarusian-language TV channel was launched. And in 2019, the first ever Belarusian-language feature film was released.
