Mozambique

Mozambique is a country located in southeastern Africa. The nation is bordered by the Indian Ocean to the east, Tanzania to the north, Malawi and Zambia to the northwest, Zimbabwe to the west, and Eswatini (Swaziland) and South Africa to the southwest. Mozambique has a long coastline along the Indian Ocean and is one of the world’s poorest countries. Mozambique is a former Portuguese colony that gained independence in 1975. The country was plagued by a civil war from 1977 to 1992.
