However, the country has a long history, with human habitation dating back over 100,000 years. The first people to live in Botswana were the San people, also known as the Bushmen. These people were hunter-gatherers, and they lived in the Kalahari Desert. Today, the San people make up a small minority of the population of Botswana. The majority of people in Botswana are of Bantu descent, and the largest ethnic group is the Tswana people. Other ethnic groups include the Herero, the Kalanga, and the Kgalagadi. The official language of Botswana is English, although Setswana is also widely spoken. Setswana is a Bantu language, and it is the first language of around 80% of the population. The economy of Botswana is based on mining and tourism. Diamond mining is the largest industry in the country, and Botswana is the world's leading producer of diamonds. Tourism is also an important industry, and Botswana is home to some of the most pristine and unspoiled wilderness areas in Africa. Botswana is a country with a lot to offer. It is a beautiful and diverse country, with a rich history and culture. If you are looking for an adventure, or just a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature, Botswana is the perfect destination.
