Aldor is a programming language created at the Axiom computer algebra system project. It is based on the programming language Lisp. Aldor adds features such as static data typing and garbage collection to Lisp. Aldor was originally developed by Stephen Watt at IBM Research in Toronto. It is now developed by a team at the Open University in the United Kingdom. Aldor is used as the main programming language at the Axiom computer algebra system project. Aldor is free software released under the terms of the GNU General Public License.
