Mazanderani

Mazanderani is a Northwestern Iranian language spoken mainly in the Iranian provinces of Gilan and Mazandaran. The language is closely related to Gilaki and Taleshi, and has many features in common with Persian. Mazanderani has a rich literary tradition and is the language of several important works of Persian literature. The most famous of these is the epic poem Shahnameh, which was written by the Persian poet Ferdowsi in the 11th century. Mazanderani is also spoken in the Iranian province of Khorasan and in the city of Mashhad. The language has several dialects, which are spoken in different parts of Iran. The Mazanderani language is written in the Persian alphabet, which is also used for writing Persian.
