Akkadian

Akkadian is a language that was spoken in ancient Mesopotamia. It is related to the Semitic languages, which includes Hebrew and Arabic. Akkadian was the language of the Akkadian Empire, which was the largest empire in Mesopotamia. The Akkadian Empire was located in what is now Iraq, Syria, and Turkey. Akkadian was the language of government and commerce, and it was also used in literature and religion. Akkadian died out after the fall of the Akkadian Empire, but it was revived in the form of Neo-Akkadian in the 20th century.
