Mende Kikakui

Mende Kikakui is a script used for writing the Mende language, which is spoken in Sierra Leone. It was developed in the early 20th century by a man named Ali Kabbah, who was from the Mende tribe. The script is based on the Latin alphabet and has 28 letters. Each letter represents a different sound in the Mende language. In addition to the 28 letters, there are also four different tones that can be used when speaking Mende. These tones are represented by symbols that are placed above or below the letters in the Mende Kikakui script. The Mende Kikakui script is very important for the Mende people. It allows them to communicate in their own language and to preserve their culture. The script is also used to write Mende names, which are often quite long and complex. Mende Kikakui is not used very often outside of Sierra Leone, but it is slowly gaining popularity in other parts of Africa.
