Ratfor

Ratfor is a programming language designed to make it easy to produce programs that run on a variety of computer systems. It was developed by Larry Wall, the creator of the Perl programming language. Ratfor is based on the FORTRAN programming language, but it is not compatible with FORTRAN. Ratfor programs are translated into FORTRAN programs before they are run. Ratfor is designed to be easy to read and write. It is not as powerful as FORTRAN, but it is easier to use. Ratfor is a free software project, released under the GNU General Public License.
