F is a programming language created by Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson in 1969. It was designed to be a successor to the B programming language, and to be more efficient and easier to use. F has been used in a number of major projects, including the Unix operating system, the C programming language, and the Plan 9 operating system. It has also been used in many other software projects, including the Plan 9 from Bell Labs operating system, the Inferno operating system, and the Limbo programming language. F has been influential in the development of other programming languages, including C++ and Go.
