Susu is a language spoken by the Susu people of Guinea, West Africa. It is a member of the Atlantic branch of the Niger-Congo family of languages. Susu has about two million speakers. The Susu language is spoken in the Susu settlements of Conakry, Kankan, and Kissidougou in Guinea. It is also spoken in the neighboring countries of Sierra Leone, Liberia, and Ivory Coast. Susu is a tonal language, which means that the meaning of a word can change depending on the pitch of the speaker's voice. The Susu alphabet has 27 letters, and the language has three dialects: Conakry, Kankan, and Kissidougou. The Susu language is used in Susu schools, and Susu literature is available in both French and Susu. The Susu people have their own calendar, which is based on the lunar cycle. The Susu language is endangered, as more and more Susu people are learning French or other languages. However, there are efforts underway to preserve the Susu language and culture.
