Eastern Canadian Inuktitut is a dialect of Inuktitut spoken in Eastern Canada. It is written in a Latin-based alphabet and is the official language of Nunavut. Inuktitut is an Inuit language spoken in Nunavut, the northernmost territory of Canada. It is also spoken in Nunavik, the Inuit region of Quebec, and in Nunatsiavut, the Inuit region of Newfoundland and Labrador. Inuktitut is a member of the Inuit-Yupik-Unangan family of languages. Inuktitut is one of the official languages of Nunavut, along with English and French. It is also one of the official languages of the Nunavik region of Quebec. Inuktitut is written in a Latin-based alphabet. There are two main dialects of Inuktitut spoken in Eastern Canada: Eastern Canadian Inuktitut and Western Canadian Inuktitut. Eastern Canadian Inuktitut is spoken in Nunavut, Nunavik, and Nunatsiavut. It is written in the Latin alphabet. Western Canadian Inuktitut is spoken in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region of the Northwest Territories and in the Kitikmeot Region of Nunavut. It is written in the syllabics alphabet.
