Hupa

The Hupa people are a Native American tribe who live in present-day California. The Hupa language is a member of the Athabascan family of languages. It is closely related to the Mattole dialect of the Wailaki language. The Hupa language is spoken by about 500 people. It is endangered, as few young people are learning it.
