PDL is a high-level interpreted programming language with dynamic typing and garbage collection. It was created in 2002 by Larry Wall, the creator of the Perl programming language. PDL is designed for scientific and numerical computing. PDL provides a large number of operators and functions for numerical analysis and linear algebra. In addition, PDL can be used for image processing, signal processing, and networking. PDL is free and open source software released under the GNU General Public License.
